About Gardners Candies
Gardners Candies was founded in 1897 by a sixteen-year-old boy named James "Pike" Gardner in Tyrone, Pennsylvania. The young entrepreneur operated out of a small store in downtown Tyrone. Pike later added a horse-drawn wagon so that he could transport and sell candy, popcorn and peanuts at local fairs and carnivals.
Gardners Candies grew over the years by expanding its product line to satisfy customer needs. Our stellar reputation is built upon quality products at affordable prices and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

The candy is great. Pricey, but good. Our only complaint was the women working there were not very friendly. Seemed to be bothered by waiting on us.

So good!!! I absolutely love chocolate and am so happy I found this place. They have so many different options to try! My plan is to try everything. My favorites are their coconut clusters! So good, they just melt in your mouth. It is pricey but I’m fine with that because the chocolates are such great quality! Love this place and how everyone that works here is so friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions. Can’t wait to go back and try some more!

I am pleased that Gardners candies still has a brick and mortar store in State College. I haven't visited Gardners in a very long time due to living out of the area. I visited the Gardners website before shopping in the store. It made it easier due to the many choices they have now. The only complaint I have is having friendly customer service in a store environment such as this. It's a must for repeat customer business. Unfortunately, this store fell short of this today. I will shop your store again. Thanks 😊

Their prices are ridiculous and complete unjustified. No they have ended the rewards program so there is zero incentive to go spend hard earned money there. Yes, the make good chocolate, but so do a lot of other companies. I hope they rethink their price gouging before they drive themselves out of business. The competition is only a few clicks away.

All of their products are excellent. Believe it or not Gardner's makes their candies and chocolates by hand. They have many long term employees that are very good at what they do. I have enjoyed their products for over 30 years and have never been disappointed. If you like chocolate and peanut butter you should try the peanut butter meltaways. Their assorted boxes are amazing, dark or milk chocolate. Chocolate covered pretzels are a great option also.
